The Seasonal Selection

As Ella Fitzgerald would say : ‘In summertime, the living is easy.’ And at Edward Green we have fallen in love with the feeling of freedom achieved with a butter-soft unlined shoe. We’ve introduced an unlined variant of our Montpellier saddle loafer. Its sweeping saddle not only gives the Montpellier a distinctive look but we find it also makes for a more forgiving fit for those with a higher instep.

Another new style for 2024 is the Horton — a chic unlined buckled loafer, available in Cotswold Grain, a soft tumbled calf with a natural grain finish.

Both join the tasselled Belgravia and Piccadilly penny loafers, all made with supple, luxurious leathers — including suedes, waxed delapres and London Grains — for supreme comfort. We believe an unlined loafer can be the ideal companion to both unstructured tailoring and the lighter fabrics of relaxed summer clothing. We have new unlined boot options in the guise of the unlined Halifax, a split-toed chukka boot, and the unlined Banbury, our plain-toed chukka.

Moss is a new suede for our swatchbook — a muted cool green which works well in the warmer months and which we've introduced on the Montpellier and Dover unlineds.

Of course, we still have a full range of classic lined loafers and see mink suede as being a particular favourite this season with the Piccadilly available ready-to-wear with both rubber and leather soles.
